Shoshana Gugenheim Kedem presents “Chutzpah as Art Practice”.
Through the lens of Jewish identity and indigeneity, feminism and re-insertion, Shoshana Gugenheim Kedem will share from select social practice works created between 2016 and 2020 during the tenure of her MFA studies in Art and Social Practice at Portland State University.
Centering the question, “What if?” Shoshana will highlight the chutzpah of reimagining in her art practice. Special emphasis will be given to her most recent project, The Greensboro Contemporary Jewish Museum (2020), a museum of everyday objects and gestures that facilitate contemporary Jewish practice and faith in Greensboro, North Carolina.
I organized this event for the Jewish Art Salon; it was co-sponsored by JADA Art.
